Can your PLN be used to help professional development post-course?

I think there is a possibility which my PLN can be used to help professional development after the course and I have several reasons. Firstly PLN is not only a platform for students to learn but also an oppotunity for students to aquire information when they are interacting and exchaning ideas with others. Students can learn plenty of knowledge which they can not learn from courses and those knowledge can help their future professions after they have taken courses due to the inclusion and diversity of PLN. Secondly, students can build and plan their future professions gradually as they are using PLN. Students do not know what they will do in the future and what they can do to make a living at first, but they will be affected by the diversed and multicultural world, which leads to an ambiguous profession planning and they will make it specific enough as they use PLN as much as possible.

Can your PLN be relied on to open professional opportunities?

I am afraid that PLN can not be relied on to open professional opportunities. PLN is a good learning platform for students to learn knowledge and plan their future professions, and it can also expand the view of students so that sudents can have more choices and possibility to achieve their goals. Although PLN is a helpful tool for students to succeed in the future, it is not helpful enough for students to open professional opportunities. It is necessary for students to practice in some posts and they can gain working experience which is helpful enough for them to open professional opportunities in the future. Students can experience the real environment and situations when they are working as an employee, and they will be more well-controlled when they are in the similar situation again later.

Why does this happen?

Factual information can create conflicts because there are people who can benefit from the conflict or there are something under the truth. What the media is demonstrating is what media wants people to see actually even if it is not true, which means media literacy plays an important role when people are using media to know and learn. Due to the supervision and laws, sometimes people could not see what really happens and different media companies have different ways to deal with information, which leads to a situation which people can see multiple versions of one piece of information online. It becomes easier to create conflicts among people who have seen different versions of information. Overall, what they did also creates huge amount of attention.

What is the benefit of having a PLN that values media literacy?

Media literacy can develope critical thinking and skeptical quality for people when they are using media to either learn or entertain. Furthermore, people can learn how the world works, which can help them interact with the real world better. However, people still need to remember that social media is somewhat different from the real world. People need to change their way of thinking flexibly when they interact with the social media and the real world, which is also a good quality of people.

Which social media platforms are beneficial in education?

Social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook are both beneficial and common ones for education. Those platforms have some features in common which are the key points for people who want to get education online. The first point is that those social media platforms are all easy to sign up and cheap to subscribe, which attracts more people. Secondly those platforms have huge user bases, which increases the speed of spreading. Huge user bases also stand for huge number of professions, which make the platforms more authoritative and reliable. Last one is that educators can also benefit from the platforms by writing teaching posts. They will accquire popularity and money from their posts if they are valuable and attractive, which motivates more and more people to become educators in social media.

When working with the vulnerable sector, how does social media fit into professionalism and regulations?

Security and privacy is the primary concern for social media when working with the vulneralble sectors. Due to the fast spread and leak of information, it is easy for vulnerable sectors to be exposed to the public if social media does not take good care of them. Otherwise negative comments and abuses can easily destroy anyone on the Internet. The second concern is that social media have to show its sincerity in order to persuade sectors to voluntarily work with social media.

Reflecting on how you would curate your social media with a critical public audience.

Agreement is the first and primary problem which I should solve. As a social media creator, audience is one of the most important elements I need to focus and can not lose. My social media profile will not become famous and popular unless my followers and audience are interested and satisfied with my posts. I will sometime make some small questionaire which contain questions about the expectations of my posts and style to my followers and audience, then I will adopt the ones which are mentioned the most into my posts. However, I will not listen to all the suggestions and advice, at least I can not let those advice affect my own style. It is important to create my own style and features.

Identify the risks and benefits of engaging with a public audience in a media space – What are the risks for a public figure or person in a position of trust (educator, lawyer, and government official)?

People who are in a positionof trust might be offended by their audience in social media because social media is different from the real world. People can easily talk to those poeple in social media, which violates the privacy of those people. Those people will receive much more comments than they do in real world becasue the environment of social media is more transparent than the real world.

More comments can also become the benefits. There are always some people who have great ideas and thoughts but they do not have the opportunity to present to people who are in a position of trust. Now their ideas and thoughts can easily be seen by those people in social media. And there will be more people who can contribute as much as possible in social media.

Include in your blog, how to best address negative replies and reviews which reflect your personal values?

First I will have a check on my blog posts if I have said something inappropriate, which leads to negative replies and reviews. Then I will anaylze them in order to figure out why they gave negative replies and reviews. I try to understand the diversity of the entire world so I need to keep tolerant and inclusion.
